Our Mellon Room exhibition for the month of December will feature the paintings of Mary Ternus & Mark Kandutsch.
Ternus has studied with some of the greatest contemporary realist painters, including the legendary Max Ginsburg, Seth Haverkamp, Tony Ryder, Nick Alm, Mark Boedges, and Sharon Sprung, among others. She is also a dedicated teacher of painting and drawing for students of all ages and levels.
“The older I get, the more I am fascinated by nature’s sculpture, color, constant changes, and enduring majesty. I am not the first painter to feel daunted by trying to paint the nature around us, and I am not looking for originality. I am reaching for a universal connection. The theme of people, particularly children, in nature is the direction I am heading with my work. I see it as the challenge of a lifetime.” – Mary Ternus
