Ruth Jordan Award
The scholarship committee selects one new scholarship applicant each year for the Ruth Jordan award.
This is a one-time award of $500 for one student, in addition to the general scholarship. The criteria for
this award are that the individual be an academically superior student and that the student
demonstrates an exceptional commitment to and achievements in community service. There is a separate application for the Ruth Jordan award.
Beverly Coleman Award
The scholarship committee selects one renewing scholarship applicant each year for the Beverly
Coleman award. This is a one-time award for one student, in addition to the general scholarship. The
amount may vary from year to year. The criteria for this award are that the individual has a cumulative
GPA of 3.0 or higher; and that the student demonstrates a deep interest in and commitment to one of
these areas: community service, conservation, horticulture, or history. There is a separate application for the Beverly Coleman award.
