
This October the Northeast Harbor Library is pleased to welcome artist Terre Lefferts to exhibit her paintings in the Mellon Room. Terre Lefferts has been drawing and painting most of her life, professionally since the 1980s. She is drawn to the beauty of pastoral and coastal settings of Maine, most of her work based on sky, land or seascapes. She also delights in painting animal portraits.
She has exhibited in New England galleries for decades, including Cry of the Loon Gallery in Casco, Duck Trap Bay Trading company in Camden, Belvoire Gallery in Millbrook, NY, and John Edwards in Ellsworth, Maine. Currently she is exhibited in The Schooner Gallery in Milbridge, Maine.Since moving back to Maine in 2021, she has had solo exhibits in Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, Ellsworth and Northeast Harbor. Most recently, she had solo exhibits at Jesup Library, Choco-Latte, and Ellsworth Public Library.
In earlier years she painted for JudithHardenbrook in Biddeford, ME, Von Maassen Interiors in Amenia, N.Y., Farnsworth Museum Gift Shop, It’s Ornamental, Harrison, ME, Redding Road House ( 40 ft mural) in Redding, CT, and Joanna’s Designs in Greenwich, CT. She has painted theater back drops for productions including Peter and the Wolf, MidsummersNight Dream, Peer Gynt, and Coppelia, in Ct and Maine, stemming from her earlier career as a ballet dancer.
Primarily self taught, she has studied with Samir Barber, David Dunlop, John Lundquist, Susan Godwin, Aline Ordman and at the Museum School of Art in Boston, MA.

This exhibit is available to view in the Mellon Room during the library’s operating hours from Monday, October 6th through Friday, October, 31st.
