Updated 8/10: As per CDC recommendations, we are requiring face coverings for all patrons over 2 years of age, regardless of vaccination status.
Our face covering policy will change in accordance with the level of transmission in Hancock county. The CDC updates the map of transmission no later than 8 pm every day, you can find the map here: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view
- HIGH: Masks required for all individuals older than 2 years old, regardless of vaccination status. We will also bring back other precautions and post our updated policies on our website and on the doors to the library.
- SUBSTANTIAL: Masks required for all individuals older than 2 years old, regardless of vaccination status.
- MODERATE: Masks optional for vaccinated individuals; required for unvaccinated individuals older than 2 years old.
To avoid flip flopping, day to day, when the transmission level changes to Substantial, we will require masks for at least a week. We will post this information on the doors to the library. We will also have disposable masks available if you forget to bring yours.
The safety of our patrons and staff is our top priority. We continue to monitor our local situation and will adjust accordingly so stay tuned.
STUDY ROOMS & WORKSPACES
At this time we are not allowing reservations of our study rooms or event spaces; we have brought back limited seating indoors and made several computers available.
Due to the limited availability, computers are available for 30 minutes and our workspaces indoors are available for an hour. There are also outdoors workspaces – with shaded spaces and spaces near outlets – that are available with no time limit. All workspaces are available first come, first served. If you need to talk on the phone or do a zoom call, we ask that you use one of our outdoor spaces.
- Request any available item in our catalog. Don’t know what you want, ask a librarian for a selection. There are three possible ways to make a request:
- Login to your account and place a hold,
- Email your request to email@example.com
- Or call us at 207 276 3333
- Your request will be filled as soon as possible; items will be bagged and labeled with your name. We will call or email you when your order is ready and confirm when you are able to pick your items up. Pick up your items outside by our front entry. If you are not able to arrange pickup within 7 days of your request being filled, the item will be placed back into circulation. The checkout period begins when the request is filled.
